SUN RAYS

Becoming familiar with one's skills and personality is the foundation of sound CAREER PLANNING.

According to a 2005 Canadian University Consortium survey of more than 18,000 students from 36 universities the average student debt was $26,819.00.  Many of these students weren't sure of their post school job prospects or even if they'd chosen the right path for themselves.  For about the same cost as the average non-refundable post secondary application fee careersun.ca can provide participants with a detailed day of self familiarity and corresponding career options.

There are a lot of resources out there for those attempting their own career planning.

There is no real right or wrong way to write a RESUME. It is your resume and it should reflect and celebrate you.

Aim to make it stand out from the rest with the use of specific, concise, and vivid language.  Quantify what you can and include any relevant key contributions and achievements from your past.  Run it by friends and/or professionals and don't forget to use key words from the job description to appeal to Automated Tracking Systems (ATS) when applying online.

There are many websites out there that claim to help you design a resume for free, but be cautioned..

Many don't deliver what they promise or just lead you to a place that you can't go any further without paying a fee -- by that point they have a lot of personal information that they likely sell.

One of the most frequent questions that we get asked with respect to preparing for INTERVIEWS is what to wear?

The answer is mostly defined by the type of job and organization. View the company's website and social media pages and if possible visit the potential workplace to get an idea of the attire. Choose something that fits (not too baggy or tight), is clean and wrinkle free.  Err on the side of conservative when in doubt, this is one part of the job search you typically don't want to stand out.  And that goes for cologne and fragrances as well, avoid them.
